A New Consciousness........

One of the best books I've read in a long time is "The Consciousness Revolution" a dialog between; Ervin Laszlo, Stainislav Grof and Peter Russell.

Each a revolutionary thinker in their own right. They bring to the table a discussion, an essential discussion, regarding the changing realities we're experiencing from within and also on a global level. How a new paradigm is being established within our personal and collective consciousness. How we each effect the world from a perspective of personal internal choice.

The motivating factor for each one of us on the level of the development of the human Psyche is to return to divinity. Which of course is the longing I've had since childhood, which is what I base my work on. I totally encourage you to have a look at this incredible piece of work, that took place in Northern, Ca. over a two day time-line in 1996. You'll be amazed at how much our global life has shaped accordingly with their ideas since then.

Afraid To Move Forward??

"I am In perfect balance. I move forward in life with ease and with joy at every age." Louise L. Hay, HEAL YOUR BODY

This is an affirmation from Louise L. Hay's book HEAL YOUR BODY. It pertains to hip problems, or Psoas Muscular issues. According to Louise, it manifests itself when we are fearful of life's major changes.

I don't feel innately threatened, I don't feel much anxiety, but I do have a constant lower back, hip pain. I've learned enough to know that we often don't consciously know what is building as fear in our bodies, or Dis-ease. A reason I am so pro-higher states of consciousness, is that I want to experience life from a state of awareness and not from a day-to-day crisis management state and it's possible, I usually live in that place.

The truth is that I have major life choices in front of me. I feel my age at times and I am not always in balance. One of the things I've learned from meditation and learning is that we have these "blocks" to undo. And as I say frequently, it often F-ing hurts.

My hip feels like it's own entity. It's screaming for attention. It doesn't seem to me to be something to run to the doctor for, I think it's emotional. I believe it's about more of letting go and facing my next moments. I live alone, I work alone and I miss my kids all of the time, when they aren't home. I think this is part of it. I am used to a man being in my life to help me make decisions and now I am doing it by myself. As I should. We should all know how to live via our own power. I'll say it again, It F-ing hurts. But, what is life if Carrie McCully can't live as a whole being, addressing my pains, feeling my own bliss and creating my own destiny? I will re-marry at some stage and I will follow my calling. This blog is to go day to day showing my ups and downs. Physical, mental, emotional and mostly spiritual.

Louise, suggests that it's about balance. I commit today and to forever to live in balance.  I work on it daily. Now I just have to get to that little Chinese Doctor, around the corner to sticks some needles in my bum to relieve the pain. :)

You Know What You Want, When You Feel It....

You know when you feel it, you can't let go. It's the spirit of poetry or inspiration. It often occurs as a blip or as a promise of a new beginning. You want to hang onto it and live it as fully as you can, make that feeling a daily way of living. You want to replace the routine in your life with this new hope.

It all happens as a mental process that originates from the spirit or a collective consciousness. Follow those signals, write them out. Commit to them. I love Mary J. Blije's song NO MORE DRAMA. She talks about letting go of drama to find your success and happiness, and how it's our choice to win or lose. Use your blip of inspiration to pull you up to a new sense of awareness, creativity and productiveness.

Being successful isn't just money, status or accomplishment. It's living out your ideas of what makes you an interesting and a happy person. What makes you unique? For me, I've chosen alternate roads of education for my kids, I do community service and I live as if I am the drummer to my own band. I follow through with those little bits of inspiration to create my dreams. Look at someone like Jimmy Buffet, he has people who follow him, called "parrot heads", he writes books, he writes TV shows, he makes food products, etc... He is fearless of failure, totally unique and successful.

Let go of the drama and follow that little idea that comes from a magical place.We, me, all have issues, but to live out our truest potential, we have to follow our dreams.

Clearing Out The Clutter To Fill It with New Stuff....

Yesterday I attempted the seemingly impossible. I cleared out my hard copies of long held onto documents. In my work I know that the Universe can't provide more of the Good stuff if we are hanging onto the bad stuff. Many of the things we hold onto are just negative reminders and blocks for us. I really didn't need to keep old legal arguments, in various stages of revision regarding the custody of my kids. That was a long time ago and the papers were all name calling and character assassination. Besides, the kids are teenagers. Who cares at this point who gets a Thursday or a weekend? They decide for themselves.

I scanned important papers: tax documents, Divorce settlement papers, writings, and work previously done with my ex-boyfriend. I then went to town with my micro-shredder. I must of had four bags of cut paper and I felt cleaned up. I then had room in my filing cabinet for all of my current work. The hardest part was letting go of work I had done for people that never appreciated or acknowledged what I had contributed.. this really pissed me off.  Just looking at these scripts, articles and business plans, made me want to kick some ass. I realized that by letting all of this go I was making room for my future work to be recognized and valued. More self-esteem building, a good lesson.

By the time I was finished, I had a headache, backache and a good dose of anger. I couldn't sleep and had to really think about what it all meant. It meant I was letting go of the past. This morning I felt, yippee, freedom. Nature abhors a vacuum. Clean out your closets and see how fast they fill up again. This time I'm filling my internal and physical space with positive, life affirming work. I'm ready to fill my once hidden clutter with new organization and abundance. I woke up today ready to make it happen. You can too.

Ain't No Easy Trip....

Do you know how fortunate I feel? I moved around a lot, starting at age four.

My Mother and I did this strange move from Louisville, KY to Beverly Hills, CA - everything after that is a blur.

From there I would literally move around the country depending on a personal (7 year old) temper tantrum or go live with whoever would take me in. It never seemed to be of interest to my parents about whether or not I finished a school year somewhere or if I was in a play, I don’t remember anyone showing up. I’m not into bashing my parents anymore, they tried. I was just a guinea pig.

As I reflect on my life I can see the great divide. I was young, tough and quick, and I didn’t know how to feel, all I knew was survival on a day -to- day basis. I swear today I will never need a GPS. I have the instincts of a homing pigeon. I never knew what “home” was, but I learned from an early age how to get from A to B. or at least from American Airlines to Delta.

What I did know was that, I deserved more respect from my elders than I was getting.

This really screwed with my self esteem, hence the years of abusive relationships and self medicating. To my biggest surprise, my two very best fiends, one from age 11 in Florida and one from age 13 in Connecticut have mysteriously returned to my life. It’s like I’ve flown full circle. I started to respect myself and the good things from my youth came back to me.

When we’re parents we are supposed to instill security and self-esteem into our kid’s lives. When this doesn’t happen, the damage always shows up later on. The gratitude I feel today is because I forgave my past, I gave up feeling like a victim lost in the woods.

You don’t have to be anywhere special to “BE” at home.

From Black Hole To SpiritualSuperstar......

This has been a terrific week considering I felt so lousy at the beginning of it.
When we have these extreme issues rise to the top of our consciousness it means only one thing, I can now consciously work on it with the power of intention and with personal responsibility. I am not afraid to tackle anxiety with the tools I have now in place. It is a blessing in disguise.

Avoidance of any deep rooted wounds only allow for them to fester. Many of my issues relate to childhood abandonment, never being rooted in a home and feeling under valued.

I don’t feel that way on a daily basis anymore, but something’s trigger those feelings and now that I understand that I can work on it with clarity and I am no longer afraid to ask for advice and to confide in people close to me. Panic and anxiety are not the end of the world. When a thought or fear arise that makes you worry, your body goes into fight or flight and all kinds’ endorphins and chemicals start into over drive. This is when you can not longer talk yourself out of worry. Your brain starts its own silly trip.

I have been learning for years about this and knew on some level that it was something I needed to understand fully. Meditation and education are my keys to freedom. I know I am not my thoughts and I know that I am human. I knew when I started to blog, that situations would come up that would make me look less of a Spiritual Superstar and more like a Black Hole. This is fine. I live my life with honesty and believe that I am not the only person out there who has deep rooted issues and this allows me to teach from the heart and from authentic experience. I am not a prisoner to the darkness; I am a soldier to the light. Uncovering darkness means that light can then be present and when the light illuminates, darkness can no longer be present.

Deepak tells a story about 911. He understands death better than 99% of the people on this earth, but when his son was flying from New York to LA on the morning of September 11, he was scared.

Whatever your burden to bear is, do not give up. Give in to understanding, ask for clarity and work on it diligently. There is nothing to be embarrassed about not being perfect.

I believe my spiritual practice and my work will be much more effective now. I’m clearing out some really dirty internal grime that wasn’t letting me shine as clearly as I could. And now I can share with others on how to find their freedom.

Forty Days to Intense Spiritual Sobriety

Last night, I was writing out lengthy notes to myself at the local pizzeria and not fully listening to my family, my step mother commented that I think too much, or rather that I never stop thinking.

I have always been intense; in fact according to that blue book about birthdays, I was born on the “Day of Intensity”. It would have been much cooler to have been born on the “day of anything happy, fun and successful” but, I am what I am. Thanking God for my innate sense of spirit and my ability easily connect spiritually via meditation, I have been saved from a life that would have probably been a female version of Robert Downey Jr. before sobriety.

The passion I feel for God is so strong, the different dimensions I see of reality are so clear, I can’t really get it when people don’t hunger and thirst for miracles in their own lives. Anyone who has had a long term relationship with me will tell you I am not easy. I will never just let something go or fade away. I think within the box, outside of the box, on the side of the box and without the box. The reason I bring this up is that I have been using myself as a spiritual experiment for the last few years and with quantum results the last year and a half. The out come is a new intensive program I will be introducing soon as “Forty Days to Spiritual Sobriety”.

I’ve done all of the thinking, meditating and pacing for everyone in the last two years and have developed a program that I know will jump- start you into a life full of Health, Wealth, Wisdom, Clarity and Happiness. Forty is a significant number in every religion and culture; Jesus wandered the desert for 40 days, Buddha sat under the Bhodi tree for 40 days, In Islam all components of your creation are gathered in your mothers’ womb at 40 days. So we too begin to find our true transformation and power at 40 days.

Once In A Blue Moon...

This Thursday we will have the second full moon of the month. The phenomenon of this is usually referred to as A Blue Moon; this morning I am heading up to the Boston area for what in our family is a “once in a blue Moon” experience. In the last three days all three of my children will have graduated from one level of school to another. This morning my oldest, my son is graduating from High school.

At thirty-nine it is a little weird to have an eighteen year old. We have really sort of grown up together. One of the magical things about growing up and learning from your mistakes is that it allows for healing to occur in what was previously in our family a war zone. Today eight of my son’s closest family members will gather on the lawn of a centuries old Massachusetts boarding school to commence his right of passage to adulthood.

The war zone that would have previously prevented all of us gathering together has become a joint effort for peace within our family’s hearts. I prayed and meditated for years that someday we would all be at a new place in life where this sort of thing could happen. By faith I new it could but, on a regular basis it almost seemed impossible.

Today is a special day not just for our family, but also for America. It is Memorial Day.
Let’s take the day to appreciate all of those who have served our country and take the time to appreciate any of us who have made it out of our own war zones.

It may only truly occur “once in a blue moon”, but peace is an option. Choose it.

Home Is Where The Heart IS....

Just a couple of mornings ago I was meditating on the banks of Lake Como, Italy. It was sunrise, the weather was calm after a storm from the night before and I felt tremendous peace. It always seems like there are new possibilities for change when we step out of our usual environment, connect with nature and enjoy different cultures. I have been to this location several times it isn’t foreign to me. What was different was that I realized that it didn’t matter were I was I felt at home with my self.

Later that day I was in Lake Lugano, Switzerland for a family event. During this rush of travel, I never felt jet lag or any stress. I simply felt at ease with each present moment. I made a decision before I left for the trip to pay special attention to all who came across my path and to be fair and kind, to appreciate each moment.

I have friends I barely recognize anymore. I can’t put my finger on each persons issues, but I do know they aren’t at peace with themselves. It is hard. I still lose my temper and get emotional when ones I have trusted treat me disrespectfully, but the distance from emotional anger to inner peace is getting shorter.

Just last night we had a family dinner in London that wouldn’t have occurred just a couple of years ago. We all had such a laugh and reminisced about when the kids where young, while the family parrot was yelling in his British accent “ I’ll have you stuffed”.

If home is where the heart is, then I am at home anywhere in the world. My heart is big, happy and alive in me. I wish you all the same.

Wild Fire Burning Within...

As wild fires are burning in New Jersey and California today, I have one burning within.
I am however, not going to try to prevent it, contain it or put it out. It is my source for clearing out the old rubbish so that new growth can occur.

This Morning during my Life–Power Hour I decided to feel the signals my body was sending my brain. If my cells can work perfectly in harmony without my thoughts attached to them, I want to know their genius, so I’m listening to my body.

I started to feel every twinge, release of stress, how my thoughts made my stomach feel a certain way, etc. During meditation I had these feelings come up and they had specific physical characteristics. I saw my self, breathing in and receiving life from God and then breathing out and releasing the past or toxins, I was giving up the old. I started to cry and it wasn’t a conscious cry out of needing anything. It was a cry of release. I saw myself replacing my old mechanics with new life and creative healing.

By choosing awareness and appreciating the most perfectly and effortlessly operating part of my life, my body. I connected to my deeper self almost immediately. Watching my breath I could feel the spiritual fire within begin to grow in intensity. French studies have shown that wild fires burn at the front line in the shape of a pear, sounds like my own bodies front line. We are not our past and we do not have to keep old dead debris in our lives. Let it go. Let the wild fire of spirit burn within you to clear a path to awareness, passion, love and health.
